Intellectual Property

Intellectual property (IP) is always a sensitive subject when dealing with collaborative development. The approach of the Center is to differentiate  between generic and specific IP. The generic IP is the set of know-how, patents, recipes and processes that are necessary in order to provide outstanding service to all  the customers. The specific IP is the set of parameters of the product or component that has been developed specifically for a given customer.

In principle, development projects might generate both kinds of IP,  improvement of the underlying basic technology and optimization of the components parameters. The former contributes to the generic IP of the Center while the latter remains the property of the customer.
